New Kittens!

This weekend was beautiful, weather wise. It was so nice to finally have a whole weekend without rain. Of course we still need the rain so I'm not complaining when it does rain, but it was nice to have a weekend without it.

Saturday the kids went camping with my parents on the land that they own near Phillpott Lake. They had loads of fun. Their favorite part was poking the fire with sticks. My parents said that all I need to do is build a fire and give them sticks and they will entertain themselves for hours. Not sure how safe that may be.

Travis and I just had a nice relaxing Saturday at home. We didn't do anything but lay around watching movies and we grilled some steaks for supper. It was very nice to have a romantic evening by ourselves. That does not happen very often.

Sunday when we picked the kids up, we also brought home two baby kittens. My moms cat had four beautiful little kittens, that around six weeks old, we think. We had been wanting some cats to kill the mice and birds in our barn. We got both of the males. Colton and Emma was very excited about the kittens. So we brought them home and played with them for a little bit, then we went inside so kids could take a nap, because they were wore out from camping. While I was cooking supper the kids begged me to let them go play with the kitties. I gave in and let them, just to get them to be quiet. They had been outside for about ten minutes when Colton came in crying and screaming, "Mommy, Cody has a kitten". I took off outside to find, Cody our 11 year old Golden Retriever with Colton's kitten in his mouth. I had to hit Cody to get him to drop the cat. It was too late. The poor kitty was already dead.

I have never felt so bad in my life. Both of my kids were absolutely going crazy, screaming and crying. Emma kept blaiming herself because she was supposed to put the cats up while Colton held Cody. She couldn't get his cat and Cody got away from Colton. We knew that Cody would kill the cats and we would have to keep them away, we just didn't know that it would be so soon.

Colton called my mom and dad crying. Within an hour Colton was delivered another kitty by his Granny and Papa. He was so happy. We had a funeral for the "Rascal" yesterday and it was very sad. Colton and I both cried, (He's emotional just like me). Him and Emma picked some flowers and put on the grave. I must say that we had a very sweet little funeral.

Now we are extra careful with the kittens to keep Cody away. We are enjoying playing with them and can't wait until they are a little bigger so they can fin for themselves. As soon as I'm able to get a descent picture of the kids with them I will post it.

No Energy!

For the past few days...or weeks...maybe months, I have had no energy. I know with the weather getting warmer and summer right upon us I should be doing so much around here. But I just don't feel like it. Today I've had a headache all day and just haven't felt like doing anything.

I'm sorry for sounding so whiney. There is people out there that have a lot of problems and never whine and sometimes I think that's all I ever do. Anyway, I'm very fortunate for my health and the ability to be able to get around, so instead of sitting around and complaining about a headache, I'm going to take some Excedrin and get off my butt.

I'm also going to try to make a doctors appointment just to get checked out to see if anything else is going on.

End of School Year!!

I can't believe this is the last week of school. Thursday night Emma will be graduating from preschool:( I'm happy for her she is so excited and she's so cute when she sings all of her songs. We say all the time that she will be on American Idol one day, she loves to sing and perform and always has. (As I'm writing this she is serenading me!!)

Friday is Colton's last day of first grade. He is so happy that summer is finally here. He doesn't like school very much, he's alot like his daddy. But I have been very impressed with him this year. He has had some not so good moments in the first grade, but overall he has done well. He had to have some extra help with his reading with a reading recovery class this year and it helped him so much. He started the year out on a level one and is ending on a level twenty four that is six levels higher than the first grade average, and he was able to be dismissed from reading recovery in December, because he was doing so well. His teacher said that he was the first student that she had ever had to be able to be dismissed early. I think the reason he struggled with reading, was because he had some problem with his speech and once he took the speech classes and got that taken care of his reading was easier for him. I'm really proud of all the hard work he has done this year and think he deserves a summer break.

We haven't decided for sure if we will be taking a vacation this year or not. For the past two years we have went to Myrtle Beach, S.C. We really like it and if we go anywhere we will go there again. The only reason we are hesitating is because of the gas prices. We roughly figured that if gas is up to 4.00 a gallon in July, which it may be more by then the way it is going, we would pay 250.00 just for gas. It would cost approximately 100.00 to fill up my car and we usually go through two and a half tanks. So that is money down the drain just to get to and from somewhere, but we may make the sacrifice because we really like going on vacation and spending that time together as a family. And you know Uncle Sam is being generous enough to give us a nice rebate check so we will use that for vacation (or gas):)

I want to know is anyone else having second thoughts about vacation this year because of gas prices and the economy in general?

Happy Mother's Day!!

Tomorrow is Mother's Day and I want to tell my Mom, Mother in Law, Sister, Grandmother, Grandmothers-in- Law, Aunts, Cousins, and Friends that I hope you all have a wonderful Mother's Day.

Mother's are such wonderful people, and I'm not just saying this because I am a Mother. Mother's jobs are never ending, it doesn't matter how old your children are, you never quit worrying and praying for them.

My mom has always been there for me. She is not only my mom she's my best friend and I feel so fortunate to have such a great relationship with her and my sister. When the three of us are together there is never a dull moment. We have so much fun together and laugh a lot. My head is usually hurting when I leave because I have been laughing so much. I hope to have that close of a relationship with my daughter when she is older.

Thank you Mom for everything and I hope you have a wonderful day. I Love You!

Thank you to the rest of the moms in my life. I Love You all:)

Ziploc Big Bags!

Yesterday I recieved a really cool package. It was a box that had three boxes of ziploc big bags inside. Each box included at least 3 bags of the L, XL, and XXL sizes of the bags. It also five 1.00 off coupons.

I had never used big bags before, but now I'm excited about finding all kinds of uses for these bags. Starting in my kids bedroom. If you haven't seen them they are like giant Ziploc bags that you use to store items such as, clothes, toys, art supplies, and anything else you can think of. They are waterproof and bug proof and they have a handle to carry or to hang.

Okay you probably wonder just how did I recieve such a nice package in the mail for free. I joined Bzzagent.com a few months back and this is my first campaign. Basically they will send you an email for certain campaigns that they think you would be interested in and you fill out a small survey about it and if you qualify you get free stuff. All you have to do is tell people about the product and how you like it. In other words you make Bzz about the product.

I was really excited to recieve the big bags and can't wait to put them to good use. I will let you know all the fun ways that I used them.

Emma's school day!

Today I got to enjoy another wonderful meal of school food:) This time Emma got to go eat with the Kindergarten class. They also got to play on the playground and ride the school bus.

It's so sad:( All of the kids look to little to be starting school in just a few months. Emma absolutely loved it. She just took off with the rest of the kids and never looked back:( I am glad though, because there were a couple kids that cried and clung to their mommies and I know that made it even harder for them.

It's amazing how fast they grow up. I know I went on and on about this before, but I never knew it would be so difficult to send my baby to school. And school hasn't even started yet. But I'm sure by July I will probably be counting down the days for school to start, after having them both at home everyday.
