Today I made some wonderful apple bread. I love it, it tastes more like cake than bread, but it is so good and easy. I got the recipe last fall from Hobby Farm Homes Magazine. I love that magazine, when I can find it.
The apples were from my dad. Colton went with him to cut wood on Saturday and they stopped by the produce stand to get apples and Colton told him to buy me a whole bag, which was half a bushel. Thanks Colton I love apples. And Thank you Daddy.
Heres the recipe:
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 3 cups apples, peeled and sliced
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. baking soda
Prepare two loaf pans by greasing, then dusting the inside with flour.
Combine the flour, apples, eggs, sugar, oil, salt, vanilla, and baking soda and mix well. Pour into prepared loaf pans. Bake at 300 degrees F for 1 1/2 hours or until a toothpick inserted into the center of each loaf comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to wire racks.
Yield: 2 loaves
ENJOY!!
